Tracking Conversions

Hi all,

We've been fairly successful on Google natural results and spend quite a bit on Adwords too. Our SEO consultant keeps telling us we should be using conversion tracking if we want to get the most out of our campaigns.

We've been doing ok so far. Can it really make that much of a difference?

The concept behind free directory submission

Directory submissions are an important aspect of SEO.But what direcotry owners do is to tempt people with promotional offers ,i.e paid subscription on a yearly/monthly basis,so that your website is featured in the front page and gets traffic.Later when Google updates PR and backlinks you get an extra inbound link that enables you to increase your PR.
What Google did after it conducted an Update for PR and Backlinks in the month of October was that it made it mandatory to use the Google Adsense account whether you purchase or sell a link.People purchasing a link from a directory without the use of the Adsense account will not have it counted as a backlink when Google updates it and directory owners who sold links without the adsense account would have their ISP'S banned from Google.

Now for those who are going in for free submissions. It makes no sense to do bulk submissions when you know that it would take up indefinite amount of time to get the reviewal of a moderator and then get the approval. What one should do is to opt for a category that one relates too and has the minimum amount of submissions.Say you have 10 keywords and you relate well to them ,but you prefer 2 amongst them.So even if the prefered category has a greater number of submissions pending,it would be wise to skip the category and opt for another term that you relate too. This helps, since the category with lesser number of pending reviewals will have the submission reviewed quickly compared to a category that has a greater number of submission pending.
My personal opinion is for those who are into free submission opt for social bookmarking or networking sites. These sites have maximum traffic and in that case if your content/article whatever you post is appealing and is of quality your visitor/traffic rate will improve.

Dmoz Submission Has Been Finally Approved.

After months of frustration my website submission has finally been approved by the DMOZ editorial team and has been put in the respective category. It took 8 months to get the nod ,since it was a free subscription.I had already given up hope and when I asked members from various forums they came up with 2 options a)DMOZ is no longer important and 2)Bribe the editor.Well I didn't believe the first and neither did I try the second one.So people who still have their website waiting for approval in the cue don't get dis heartened just submit it to the most relevant category .Incase your website has 10 keywords and you optimize your website properly for all of them, then try submitting it to the category that has the minimum amount of approvals pending. That will surely help.I did that and was successful.

Which is the best affiliate marketing course?

Stuart Tan’s Internet Marketing Singapore Blog
For many people, the best affiliate marketing course is Rosalind Garnder's Super Affiliate Handbook. Having met her personally, I think she rocks. It's seldom that I get to chat with a female affiliate marketer, so it's like I'm a different person after meeting her!
Indeed, her manual of knowledge was the highest value for money I'd ever received, specifically about internet affilaite marketing. It was through that that I learnt how to make traffic buy my affiliate recommendations. It was great!
Then, I also came across the late Corey Rudl's Insider Secrets to Internet Marketing. It covered a much wider base, and after his demise, it seemed kind of sad to read the 2005 version. The 2006 and 2007 versions are well updated by Derek Gehl, whom I've also had the pleasure to meet. Derek's put together sufficient knowledge to wipe out the entire universe of affiliate trainers.
Yet, I've found underground affiliate trainings going on that were far more superior. One of them, more so by demonstration rather than by teaching, was Ewen Chia's Super Affiliate Weapon. It goes for a song on Clickbank, but more importantly, your buying process is representative of the hundreds of thousands who go to that site regularly. It's a great experience. Go check out this amazing work yourself! Ewen happens to be one of my closer internet marketing friends, and I can tell you, if you don't get to chat with him, it's going to be a waste (hey, chat with me too).
Affiliate marketing courses abound. There are plenty of other experts whom I've not been able to mention in this short time, but I expect that you will get to know them. I run a couple myself, after being educated by these great people, and I know that if you need a comprehensive, non-technical environment where you meet me face to face and learn the latest techniques in affiliate marketing, join me in the trenches!

Q and A section

Do search engines like Question and Answer sections on a website- is this beneficial for SEO?
And would a Q and A section be good to be a part of a landing page? Or how about a forum?;)

Search Engine of Choice

SEO vBulletin No Comments »
Category Icon
Whenever I need information, I either go to Yahoo or to Google. Specially with the Google toolbar neatly installed and accessible, it becomes quicker to search for anything. Search results are often satisfactory and if I don't find it in Google, I go to Yahoo, or vice versa. My friend introduced me to AskJeeves (it has been renamed, I think), which I rarely use. As for MSN, I don't really use it, unless I just logged out of my hotmail account and the homepage gets back to MSN. :(

A real SEO course!

Hey everybody,
I've read a couple of ""SEO Books"", and though I've picked up some good pointers, what I'm looking for is a more conclusive manual of Search Engine Optimization.
Does such a thing exist, or do I just need to learn on my own?

'm considering migrating my current site (static web pages) into Joomla!. I rank pretty high in all 3 major search engines and do not want to lose these rankings, what do you suggest? Should I go for Joomla!? Should I redirect the highly ranked pages? I'm a bit worried but my site's growing and I need some kind of CMS. Any other option?:)

Making a clickbank portal

Hey Guys, im thinking of having someone make me a clickbank portal where the script pulls products from clickbank and adds them on my site and also have someone add unique content to my site.
Will this be enough to make my site unique enough in googles eyes for my seo to be able to do his work on it and get it ranked well in the search engines if also the metatags are done?

SEO Future?

I've been reading quite a bit of material on Google recently and I've personally come to the conclusion that sooner rather than later, search engines such as google will almost dismiss the current SEO techniques used today with a couple exceptions. I would think that Keyword rich content, Titles, links etc are and will always be very important, but the older Google gets possibly 99.999% of it's results will be based on content and interaction only? Think about the difference from 2001 to 2006 and how much less value h2 tags etc give to SEO now. (this is all of course an assumption).

Question-!
