I know some of you have been wondering where I disappeared to, as I havenÂ’t been especially active around here. Well, IÂ’m about to let the cat out of the bag! :D
For more than a year, I have been working with the team at Zoints to build a system that will help take online forums to a new level. We are now partnered with Zoints. In addition to releasing some products coded by other Zoints engineers here at vBadvanced, we will also be providing discounts on vBAvanced products to forum owners who utilize the Zoints system. As an example:

What is Zoints?
Zoints is a forum network and profile system already utilized by more than 125 forums, including some of the largest in the world. The Zoints team has created this system to ensure that online communities continue to flourish. The Zoints interest tag system is designed to drive new members to your forum based upon keywords of your choosing. This system will drive members to your forum based upon interest, which is just about the best kind of traffic there is.
Zoints will also give you a share of Adsense advertising impressions on member profiles originating from your forum. In other words, this system is designed to drive additional members to your forum AND become a whole new revenue stream.
How is Zoints different from other social networks my members already belong to?
Zoints is designed by forum owners, for forum owners. It's designed to drive more members to YOUR forums, not our own as some other social netowrking web sites. The unique forum-based privacy system allow members to create groups of contacts and control exactly what information/pages each group can view. The drag-and-drop interface and ability to enable/disable different kinds of “blocks” make customization a breeze. Members can create and upload profile “styles” to a shared database, or choose from a variety of default and member-created styles.

How Will Zoints Change My ForumÂ’s Appearance?
In short, VERY little. Most configurations create a link in the navbar and a link under each memberÂ’s username as shown here:
Of course, if members choose to not participate in Zoints, they can disable it via a simple checkbox in the User CP.
How was I personally involved with the development of Zoints?
I have been a part of Zoints since its inception. I participated in drawing up the initial product specs and have been one of five engineers working long hours on the project. Needless to say, VERY involved. ;)
I'd like to give Zoints a try! Now what?
Great! Head over to http://zoints.com/community-owners.z and you should be up and running within minutes.
What if I'm not interested in Zoints?
Don't worry. If you don't want to use Zoints, then you won't be affected in any way. Although you won't be able to enjoy some of the discounts and such that will be offered to Zoints customers, you will still be able to use our products as well as the new Zoints products the same as you can now.

*** The free licenses will be added approximately 1 week after we receive your email and we confirm that the Zoints profile system has been running on your forums for that time. Zoints must be installed on your forums before you send an email, and once the email is reviewed by vBadvanced staff. Emails must include your username on Zoints, your username on vBadvanced, and your forum URL where the Zoints software is installed. Incomplete submissions, or submissions reviewed where the forum is not already running Zoints will not be considered for the free license.
